The NBA is a pretty famous league and the NBA stars are often mentioned by other celebrities in their creative works. A similar incident happened recently when Ja Morant was mentioned by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in his concert.
Morant is currently out of action but made quite a lot of headlines early in the season. Those headlines were not particularly of good nature and the WWE star specifically targeted those headlines.
“The Rock” takes a dig at Ja Morant’s controversy before Wrestlemania 40
In WWE’s Friday night show “Smackdown,” Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson performed a live concert. Dwayne recently made a comeback to the wrestling company and is currently playing a heel character. As Smackdown was held in Memphis, the future WWE Hall of Famer thought it was nice to perform a concert reminding the fans of his 2003 skit.
In his song, he primarily targeted rivals Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins, roasting them with his lyrics. However, as the show was being held in Memphis, Dwayne thought it was a good idea to fire some shots at Grizzlies star Ja Morant. “You are simply an embarrassment, son Just like, Ja Morant when he’s waving a gun (I love you Ja),” said Dwayne in his song.
He mentioned Morant and his guns controversy, which got him suspended. However, the WWE star was conscious enough to clarify that his statements were meant as a joke, as he quickly said, “I love you Ja.”
