When trying to get Instagram likes goes wrong.
Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James brought major attention to a video of a woman after she was spotted engaging in fake activism while pretending to help for the sake of Instagram pictures.
In the video, after posing with the construction worker, she hands him back his power tool and says, “Thank you so much” before walking away. As Moriarty-McLaughlin and her boyfriend hop into a black Mercedes-Benz to quickly leave, as they were parked in a red zone, the bystander yells, “Good job, you guys! BLM!”
Fiona Moriarty-McLaughlin has since been identified as the woman in the video and she no longer has a job after the Washington examiner fired her, according to Daily Mail.
“The Washington Examiner fired a conservative journalist after she posted a picture of herself online posing with a power drill outside a boarded-up business in Los Angeles amid George Floyd protests.
A spokesperson for the Examiner confirmed that Moriarity-McLaughlin was let go when DailyMail.com reached out.”
Fiona Moriarty-McLaughlin has since deleted all of her social media accounts.
