Former NBA star JJ Redick has been at the center of attention in recent days as speculation swirled around his potential appointment as head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers. Nevertheless, the emergence of Dan Hurley as a leading candidate has shifted the focus. Despite this, New York Knicks player Josh Hart has added his voice to the conversation, endorsing Reddick as an excellent choice for the role.
Speaking on their “Roommate Show” podcast, Hart openly praised Reddick’s potential as a coach. The Knicks star shared Reddick’s understanding of the game and ability to strategize effectively for the role.
“He would be an amazing X’s and O’s coach. Put guys in the right position. He will for sure be a coach in the next couple of years,” Hart said.
While Reddick lacks coaching experience at the professional level, having spent over 15 years as a player in the NBA, his deep understanding of the game and leadership qualities have garnered attention. On the other hand, Hurley, though he has yet to coach an NBA team, boasts extensive experience in collegiate-level coaching.

“I would bet this ends with Dan Hurley getting a big additional raise from UConn, and JJ Redick being the head coach of the Lakers,” Wright said.
In recent weeks, the Lakers have conducted interviews with multiple candidates, including Redick, James Borrego, and Sam Castle, as they assess their options for the role. Yet, according to the latest reports, Hurley has emerged as the front-runner for the position.
