Joel Embiid is having a tough time this season. Aiming to have a distinctive year, Embiid, along with the Philadelphia 76ers, have failed miserably in their attempt. Starting the season on a somber note, the 76ers have faltered on 12 occasions in their last 14 games. While the playoffs look a distant possibility now, the team is also being ravaged by internal conflicts.
Embiid, who is not having a great run, has picked up an injury, too. However, in one of the leaked team meetings, Tyrese Maxey allegedly confronted Embiid for being late. Now, such a piece of sensitive information going public was something that did not sit well with the 76ers star. As a result, he immediately lashed out at the person responsible for spilling the team’s secrets into the open.

“Whoever leaked that is a real piece of s**t. We talked about a lot of things [during the meeting]. I don’t want to get into the details, but that whole thing [with Maxey] probably took 30 seconds,” said Gina Mizell from the Philadelphia Inquirer. The 76ers star then added that since his name was associated with the controversy, the media deliberately made it look like a huge deal.
Embiid then accepted his flaws and mentioned that he was ready to take the blame for everything. This was not the only controversial comment that came from Joel Embiid in recent times. He also wanted the 76ers to acquire a star prospect instead of Paul George.
Joel Embiid Wanted Six-Time NBA All-Star To Make The 76ers Cut
Looking to ring in a change of form this year, the 76ers brought in Paul George. However, this was not what Joel Embiid had in mind. The NBA icon wanted his good friend, six-time All-Star and the Miami Heat star, Jimmy Butler, to join forces. Revealing Embiid’s wish, Yahoo Sports’ Vincent Goodwill stated that the 30-year-old was unhappy with the management’s decision to bring Paul George.
“He wanted Jimmy Butler. He told the 76ers, ‘Go get my guy’… I don’t think Joel Embiid has been happy even though they wound up getting Paul George. He wanted Jimmy Butler back over there.” 👀

Surely enough, Embiid might have been right. While George hasn’t been effective in changing the poor fate of the Philadelphia-based outfit, Butler has been phenomenal for the Heat. He even led Miami to two finals, proving his worth further.
