Jimmy Butler is a throwback 90’s player who just so happens to play in the new school. He doesn’t seem to like anybody when he steps on the court, and that seems to include his own teammates.
On The JJ Redick Podcast, the New Orleans Pelicans guard had a discussion with Miami Heat guard Duncan Robinson about the disrespect Butler shows to white players.
Redick stated when Butler was with the Minnesota Timberwolves, the All-Star felt disrespected by the matchup:
Butler now plays with alongside Robinson with the Heat.
They each indicated they get “challenged” every night because they are white shooters. Robinson stated he can where players “eyes light up” when they see him trying to defend them.
According to Richard Lapchick of ESPN — White players made up just 18.1 percent of the NBA as of 2018-19.
