Damian Lillard made it clear he wanted to be traded by the Portland Trail Blazers, but he only had the Miami Heat on his list. Well, he did not get his wish.
The Portland Trail Blazers dealt Lillard to the Milwaukee Bucks as part of a three-team deal with the Phoenix Suns. Lillard will now get to team up with Giannis Antetokounmpo in Milwaukee, which is sure to make them favorites in the Eastern Conference this season.
The Suns landed Jusuf Nurkić, Grayson Allen, Nassir Little, and Keon Johnson in the trade. The Trail Blazers received Deandre Ayton, Toumani Camara, and Jrue Holiday.
Heat star Jimmy Butler was not happy as he released a video calling on the NBA to investigate the Bucks for tampering.
“Yo, NBA. Man, you got to look into the Bucks for tampering,” Butler said on his Instagram story. “Y’all do. I’m just going to put that out there. Y’all didn’t hear it from me, but I heard it through somebody [inaudible].”
Knowing Butler’s playful personality, it’s unsure if he was being serious when he called for the NBA to investigate the Bucks for tampering after ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported the trade.

The Heat were long considered the frontrunner since Lillard requested a trade to the Heat, but things just did not work out that way. Instead, Lillard goes to the Bucks, who the Heat eliminated in the first round of the playoffs last year.
The Bucks will open the season on Oct. 26 against the Philadelphia 76ers.
