Butler had several issues with his former team, the Heat, before his trade. The Heat suspended him multiple times. However, the trade ended those concerns, and Butler has since adjusted well to his new team. In a recent interview, Butler credited Draymond Green with helping him adapt to the Warriors.
“Hell, I don’t know too many of the plays right now anyway, so he’s definitely telling me where to go on the floor. And I’m grateful, he’s shown me so much grace in understanding I am new here, even though I’ve been around the league for so long. Butler made his debut for the Warriors in their recent game against the Bulls. He played for 29 minutes, scoring 25 points, along with four assists and two rebounds. He played alongside Stephen Curry, who scored 34 points, recorded six assists, and grabbed four rebounds. During the post-game interview, Butler reflected on his experience playing alongside the all-time leader in three-pointers.
“They say opposites attract in life. I don’t think I could be a better complement to him and vice versa. They’re (the defense) not leaving him ever, probably two people. There’s so much space w/everyone else, I get the easy job. It’s so great playing with someone like that,” Butler said.
