NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace has gained a lot of attention after he first got the sport to finally ban confederate flags at events going forward.
Those efforts were applauded by many, but it also led to terrible actions by some.
Aside from fans showing up over the weekend to an event with confederate flags and even flying one on a plane, someone purposely tried to send a message to Wallace by leaving a noose in his garage stall.
Taking to Twitter on Monday, NASCAR legend Jimmie Johnson responded to the report of the noose being found by pledging to stand with Wallace.
“I can’t begin to fathom the pain this action has caused,” Johnson wrote on Twitter. “I stand with you @BubbaWallace.”
NASCAR’s decision to ban the Confederate flag has been mixed, and even caused a Truck series driver to plan to leave the sport as a result.
