Jeff Van Gundy was really upset on Monday night.
The Los Angeles Clippers kept their season alive behind a 116-102 victory on the road to defeat the Phoenix Suns as the series heads back to LA for Game 6 on Wednesday.
In the fourth quarter with more than 4 minutes remaining, Clippers star Paul George took a slap to the face from Suns forward Jae Crowder. George went down seemingly in pain from getting hit across the face.
Jeff Van Gundy seriously disagreed with a flagrant foul call and said, “I’m sick of the sissification of the game. That’s not a flagrant foul. He contested. He fouled him. Shoot your two free throws,” Van Gundy said.
“I really hope Jeff Van Gundy gets a Head Coach job next year so nobody has to hear him on a TV ever again,” one person tweeted.

“I wish I could poke Jeff van gundy in the eye,” tweeted another.
“Words matter and deeming something as ‘sissy’ like is misogynistic and homophobic,” one person tweeted. “We all know the term sissy is demeaning and to use such language especially during #Pride month is not okay. Do better Jeff #espn.”
“Jeff Van Gundy objected to the “sissification” of the NBA because the refs called a flagrant when Paul George got smacked in the face. I don’t appreciate Coach Gundy’s low-key wanna-be-macho homophobic bullshit. Address this with him. It’s not acceptable conduct.”
“Jeff Van Gundy did not just say “sissification,” and not even acknowledge how misogynistic and homophobic that is.”
Van Gundy’s co-commentator Mark Jackson disagreed with him and said it was clear that it was a flagrant foul. The refs agreed and Paul nailed the two free throws to put the Clippers up 14 points late in the game.
He led all scorers with 41 points on 15-of-2 shooting and was 3-for-6 from the three-point line.
