The Jimmy Butler-Miami Heat Drama could be an eye-opener in the NBA. With the drama lasting for over a month, the hoops world was hyped up with every minute detail coming out of the fiasco. And this is exactly what might reshape future NBA contracts, as per the former NBA athlete Jeff Teague. Appearing in the ‘Club 520’ podcast, Teague stated that Butler’s open trade request might hurt the possibility of players down the line getting lucrative contracts.
Teague also mentioned that the athletes’ salaries are much higher, and thus, the authorities will not remain silent. Finally, he also stated that the owners might now consider adding a clause to every contract.
“That’s the shit that’s gonna happen, bro. It’s gonna be more contracts like Zion Williamson— all these clauses where I don’t gotta pay you cause if you go rogue or whatever type sh*t,” said Teague. “You can sit out for anything, really. If he wanted to get his money, all Jimmy had to really do is go in there and play hard as f**k. Play as hard as he can, have three or four good games, and then, ‘my hamstring.’“

Surely, Jeff Teague does have a point here. The fiasco was a significant one, and it might just force the owners to revisit the contract. But as of now, Jimmy Butler is breathing at ease, more so because he is being welcomed by Stephen Curry.
Stephen Curry Embraces Jimmy Butler
Stephen Curry had been searching for an able partner for a long time. And that search might have just come to an end. With the inclusion of Butler, the Golden State Warriors will be looking to take their season up by a notch. While there were several concerns related to Butler, Curry does not seem to be paying much heed to them.
“I know there was a lot of drama down there (in Miami). Who really knows what the story is? We expect to have a motivated, committed Jimmy,” said Curry.

Surely, Curry was right. Making his debut for the Warriors, Butler dropped 25 points to guide his team to victory. Now, it will be on him to keep up the good work in future games.
