The Boston Celtics emerged victorious in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Indiana Pacers with a score of 126-110, giving them a 2-0 lead in the series. Notably, this is the first time the Celtics have begun a conference series with a home-court advantage. In the 2022-23 Conference finals, the Celtics lost both Games 1 and 2 against the Miami Heat.
However, this year, the Celtics have reversed the trend and are dominating the series. Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum showcased their skills at a crucial time.
Jaylen Brown dominated game two following his game-changing effort in game 1
Jaylen Brown scored 40 points with two assists and five rebounds in 37 minutes of gameplay. After three quarters, Boston led by thirteen points, and the Pacers were never closer than eleven in the fourth. With the victory, Boston leads the best-of-seven series 2-0.
Jayson Tatum finished the game with 23 points, five assists, and three rebounds in 42 minutes, while Derrick White scored 23 points with six assists and four rebounds in 36 minutes of gameplay.
Brown has been delivering impressive back-to-back performances during the series. In the final seconds of game 1, when the Celtics were close to losing, Brown made a game-tying 3-pointer that forced the game into overtime. Thanks to Brown’s efforts, the Celtics won both games. During a press conference after game 1, Brown opened up about his mentality regarding the conference finals. He mentioned that the Celtics’ game is not over until the final buzzer.
Despite giving impressive performances, Tatum, the team’s star player, said that he was not satisfied with his play during the games.
