Before the Boston Celtics left the court, sweeping the Indiana Pacers from the NBA Finals race, a heated altercation erupted between the Celtics’ Jaylen Brown and the Pacers’ Myles Turner. Following the game, Brown candidly shared his perspective on the scuffle with Turner.
Brown stated Turner’s passionate play, suggesting that Turner felt compelled to act because he was playing at home with his family and girlfriend likely watching.
“Myles is a good kid. Let’s start with that. Throughout the series, he loses control of his body a little bit. I was just letting him know, ‘Just watch it’. He feels like he’s at home, his family is watching. His girl is probably watching and he had to do something. I’ve known Myles a long time…It’s all love,” Brown said.
The incident occurred in the third quarter when Turner collided with Celtics guard Derrick. The collision left White tumbling to the floor.
Brown was seemingly much furious over the matter. He soon walked over and shoved Turner in the shoulder with his left hand. Turner also did not hold back and responded by pushing Brown back with both hands. The two players exchanged heated words before being separated.
