In the final seconds of regulation, Boston Celtics point guard Jaylen Brown surprised everyone with a game-tying three-pointer over Pascal Siakam. With just 6.1 seconds left, the Celtics tied Game 1 against the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals at 117. After overtime, the Celtics won 133–128, taking a 1-0 series lead.
During a press conference following the game, Jaylen Brown discussed his clutch game-tying 3-pointer, which sent Game 1 to overtime. He credited his teammates’ good passes for helping him make the shot.
“One, it was just a momentum play that we were able to turn them over and get an extra possession, and that led to a great drive. Jrue made a great pass, [Derrick] White set a good screen, and the rest was history,” Brown said.

Brown explained the mentality during Game 1
Brown further explained his mentality during the game. He mentioned that players should control their emotions during the game because the game was on until the final buzzer sounded. He praised his teammates’ performance and said that they found a way at the very end of the game that resulted in extra time.
“Welcome to the NBA playoffs. You just have to manage your emotions; in the game, anything can happen, and the game is not over until the final whistle—the final buzzer sounds. That was a good example of that. We were able to turn it over a little bit towards the end. We had [Tyrese] Haliburton on the sideline, and I was able to get the deflection off of [Pascal] Siakam, which just extended the game. It’s not over until it’s over. We just found a way to win the game at the very end.” Brown added.
