Last week, the Washington Post reported that, after Musk purchased Twitter, use of the “n-word” skyrocketed by a staggering 500 percent.
LeBron James responded to this story, saying it was “scary AF [as f–k].” He proceeded to send a message to Elon Musk.
“I dont know Elon Musk and, tbh, I could care less who owns Twitter,” James tweeted. “But I will say that if this is true, I hope he and his people take this very seriously because this is scary AF. So many damn unfit people saying hate speech is free speech.”
Musk would soon respond back to him by sending a thread by Yoel Roth, Twitter’s head of safety and integrity.
“Over the last 48 hours, we’ve seen a small number of accounts post a ton of Tweets that include slurs and other derogatory terms,” Roth tweeted on Saturday. “To give you a sense of scale: More than 50,000 Tweets repeatedly using a particular slur came from just 300 accounts.”
Roth continued: “Nearly all of these accounts are inauthentic. We’ve taken action to ban the users involved in this trolling campaign — and are going to continue working to address this in the days to come to make Twitter safe and welcoming for everyone.”

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is known for being vocal about social issues, but everybody agreed with his stance. In fact, one person called him out for being a hypocrite.
Jason Whitlock, a sports journalist, and columnist who routinely attacks James, took it upon himself to do it again when he called out the four-time MVP, implying that he is a hypocrite for his take on the use of the N-word.
Whitlock is referring to when James listens to rap music that has the word or when he says it himself around others, but fails to realize there is a stark difference when that word is being used with an ‘A’ at the end as opposed to when it is being used with an ‘ER.’ That is exactly what people on social media were using.
James has yet to publicly respond to Whitlock and judging by his history, he never will.
