James Harden throughout the Summer attracted much of the negative press regarding his well-documented rift with Sixers president Daryl Morey. With a move to the Clippers after burning the bridge with the Philly franchise, Harden has found his rhythm in his new colors.
With the Clippers heading toward a strong finish to the regular season and eyeing a championship bid, much of the credit should go to the big 3 of the franchise, Harden, Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. But against the Trail Blazers, a moment of madness involving James Harden and Kawhi Leonard has the NBA fans in disbelief.
James Harden seemingly tries to block Kawhi Leonard
Despite all the controversies surrounding James Harden, there is no doubt over his talent on the hardboard. Harden has made a name for himself for being one of the best in the business when it comes to offensive play. He did the same against the Trail Blazers on Thursday.
During the third quarter of the game, with a 21-point lead over the opponent, Harden picked up Kawhi Leonard with an inch-perfect pass in the corner. As Leonard jumped for the shot, Harden stunned his teammates, the Clippers bench, the commentary desk, the fans in attendance and whoever watched the game with one of the most bizarre actions to ever happen on the court.
Harden seemingly tried to block Leonard’s shot for a three. The moment caught the 6-time NBA All-Star off guard as he missed the shot. The ball somehow rebounded to Harden who then set up Amir Coffey for a three which the latter scored. The Clippers sailed to a 116-103 victory over the Blazers with Harden dropping 19 points along with 14 assists. Though the moment did not affect the outcome of the game, the onlookers were left scratching their heads.

Harden’s block attempt on Kawhi Leonard leaves NBA Twitter stunned
James Harden’s momentary friendly fire did not have a major casualty other than Leonard missing a three. But the moment soon became viral as the views poured in to see the latest enigmatic action of the Beard. One fan pointed out the 34-year-old was not serious during the game by commenting, “Harden is so unserious (crying emojis)”
While another fan sarcastically wrote “That’s the best defensive effort I’ve ever seen from James Harden lol”
Someone responded amusingly by tweeting “The one time Harden decides to play defense, it’s against his teammates”
A fan made a meme out of it by writing “Kawhi when he catch James Harden in the locker room” along with a GIF.
“Bro had the under on Kawhi’s 3pt FG” added another fan on X.
While the night concluded on a sound note for the LA-based franchise, it is yet unknown if the event left any locker room rift between Leonard and Harden. If the Clippers are to finish the season as NBA Champions the duo must stay on the same page with this incident being the last of its kind.
