James Harden added another milestone to his illustrious career during the Los Angeles Clippers’ 116-105 win over the Utah Jazz on Sunday night at the Intuit Dome. Harden surpassed NBA legend Ray Allen to claim the second spot on the league’s all-time three-pointers-made list.
Harden’s achievement places him behind only Stephen Curry, the undisputed leader in three-point shooting. While Harden’s 2,975 career three-pointers are a remarkable feat, Curry remains far ahead with 3,782 and counting.
When asked about his chances of surpassing Curry during a press conference, Harden was realistic about the challenge.
“I’m one of the most confident guys that we have in this league. But no. I probably won’t catch Steph. I don’t think anybody will. He can shoot the shit outta the ball,” Harden said.

Harden acknowledged that Curry’s eventual total will likely set an unbreakable standard in NBA history. For context, Curry has played just 965 games to reach his current total, while Harden has played 1,086.
James Harden Thanks Kevin Durant And Russell Westbrook For Early Success After Three-Point Record
After James Harden reached the milestone, his former teammate Kevin Durant remained quick to congratulate Harden on his achievement. After hearing about KD’s congratulatory words, Harden could not resist himself from sharing tremendous love for KD and Russell Westbrook for leading the way for him.
“When I got traded to Houston, I just knew I was gonna be successful cuz I learned how to work at a young age. Shoutout to KD, shoutout to Russ, and the entire Oklahoma City organization for that ground building that they gave me,” Harden said.
