Fans on social media had a range of comments after news of the James Harden trade broke in the wee hours of Tuesday morning.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Philadelphia 76ers were sending Harden to the Los Angeles Clippers along with P.J. Tucker and Filip Petrusev in exchange for Marcus Morris, Nick Batum, Robert Covington, and KJ Martin, plus an unprotected 2028 first-round pick, two second-round picks, and a first-round pick swap.
The Sixers are also getting another first-round pick via the Oklahoma City Thunder while they’ve waived Danny Green.
The reactions were all over the place, with fans also dumping on Shams Charania for arriving late to the party as he dropped the news around 30 minutes after Woj did.

Harden had been trying to force his way to the Clippers since June, having realized that there was no way he was going back to Houston after the Rockets acquired Fred VanVleet. He was a free agent at the time but opted into the final year of his deal seemingly under the impression that he would be traded by Sixers GM Daryl Morey.
When he didn’t get the trade, Harden openly called Morey a liar. However, he eventually reported to camp and even tried to fly to Milwaukee with the team to play the Bucks but was prevented from getting on a flight by security.
