The New York Knicks named star guard Jalen Brunson as their new captain ahead of the 2024-25 season. Brunson joined one of the most lucrative NBA franchises in 2022 and led the Knicks to back-to-back Conference semi-finals in the last two years. Recently, the 28-year-old point guard weighed in on the NBA vs. NFL debate that set social media ablaze.
After defeating the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2024 playoffs, Brunson returned to The City of Brotherly Love on Monday for the Eagles and the Atlanta Falcons’ NFL clash. In a pregame interview, Brunson was asked whether moving from the NBA to the NFL is easy or vice versa.
Former Eagles center Jason Kelce asked the Knicks guard, who was donning a Jalen Hurts’ Eagles jersey with a shade of green, “Is it easier for an NBA player to play NFL, or for NFL guy to play NBA?”
Without hesitation, Jalen Brunson said, “It’s easier for an NBA guy to play in the NFL. Not saying it’s easy… But, like, if you’re guarding the pick and roll…” As the Knicks guard continued to explain his take, Jason interrupted him and said, “I’m going right through the pick.”
Fans React To Jalen Brunson’s Response To Jason Kelce
The NBA fans agreed with Brunson, while others ridiculed his opinion. The Eagle lost Monday’s game against the Falcons 21-22, and fans mentioned Brunson on social media following his take.
