Jalen Brunson has been on fire this season for the Knicks. Since his move from the Mavs, Brunson has raised his game to a different level, and this year, he saw the breakout of a legit NBA superstar. While the crowd in Madison Square Garden is making life hell for the visiting sides, the point guard has been showered with love from around New York. But that wasn’t always the case.
In the latest episode of Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart‘s “Roommates Show”, the 27-year-old revealed a harrowing fan experience from a couple of years ago. “I actually played well that day. So I don’t know what the problem was. They were like, ‘we’re going to kill everyone in your family.’ Like they went down the line. ‘Your mother, your unborn kids.‘ All that,” said Brunson. (After: 14:35) Former NY star John Starks was the guest on the show, who agreed about the fans being over the top sometimes.
Brunson further said, “They’re betting their livelihood on us,” and when they lose their money, they vent on the players. There are many doubters of the Knicks this season, but given JB’s current form, not many can bet against him and his franchise.
Jalen Brunson Could Carry Knicks to NBA Championship
Jalen Brunson had a superb regular season, averaging 28.7 points per game in 77 outings. The Knicks guard also maintained his dominance in the postseason and is breaking records.
In the first round of the playoffs against the Sixers, the former Villanova guard averaged 35.5 points per game, 9 assists and 4.5 rebounds. His 47 in game 3 of round one is his highest so far in the postseason, but it wouldn’t be surprising if Brunson tops that in the next game.

So far, against the Pacers in the conference semifinals, he is averaging 32 points with a 3-2 series lead. He has 5 40-plus-game postseason games and needs only one to join Stephen Curry, Devin Booker, Luka Doncic, and Giannis Antetokounmpo, who all have 8 such games.
The dependable supporting cast of Josh Hart, Donte DiVincenzo, and Miles McBride also provides all-around coverage on the offensive and defensive ends of the court, and there is no reason why the Knicks can’t beat the Pacers in game 6 to confirm their place in the Eastern Conference Finals. To reach the NBA Finals, the Knicks would need to go through the top-seeded Celtics, but to be champions, one must go through the contenders.
