NBA fans had all the jokes after a video of Ja Morant throwing a fake punch at a lawyer popped up online.
The Memphis Grizzlies point guard was in court this week as he’s had to explain his actions following a lawsuit filed by a teenager he stands accused of assaulting last year.
Morant, who was suspended for the first 25 games of the 2023/24 NBA season after appearing on IG Live brandishing what looked like a pistol, could return to action against the New Orleans Pelicans next Tuesday if he’s in shape. In the meantime, he’s getting roasted on social media.
In the video below, the 24-year-old is shown engaging a female attorney who asks him to punch her. He refuses to do so, then she asks him to show her how he punched the then-17-year-old Joshua Holloway. He throws his arm in front of her face to demonstrate.
Fans found the exchange to be pretty funny.

While Morant has admitted to punching Holloway, he claims he was acting in self-defense.
The NBA star and his friend, Davonte Pack, have both been accused of assault, reckless endangerment, abuse or neglect, and infliction of emotional distress.
According to Morant, the incident came about as a result of the teen hitting him in the chin with a basketball during a pickup game.
