Ja Morant seems like a nice guy. Yet every now and then, he does something to test everyone.
The Memphis Grizzlies guard is in some hot water, having reportedly gotten sued for punching a teenager. His on-court antics have gotten him in some trouble as well. Like how do you not know that asking a referee whether he bets (during a game) is a bad idea? Yeah, he’s done that too…
Ja managed to get the fans on his back again during a game against the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday night. With the Grizzlies holding a 29-point lead late in the third quarter, Morant took several seconds off the clock by simply refusing to touch the ball after an inbound.
The shot clock doesn’t start winding down until a player touches a ball on the inbound so there was no risk of an eight or 24-second violation; he could have gone all night if the Hornets let him. The Grizzlies star only picked the ball up after an opposing player rushed back up the court to try to get it.
The move took 20 seconds off the game clock.

Ja seemed to be a bit winded at the time, but fans slammed him all the same.
