While many people were watching that wild NFL regular season finale between the Chargers andRaiders last night in Vegas, there was actually a few rather entertaining NBA contests taking place just next door to Nevada, in the state of California.
In the Bay Area, Klay Thompson was making his highly-anticipated debut after missing the last two-and-a half seasons due to knee and Achilles injuries. And south of there, fans at Crypto.com Arena were treated to spectacular showcase between LeBron James’ Lakers and Ja Morant’s Memphis Grizzlies.
LeBron had a big night, with 35 points, nine rebounds and seven assists, but it was Morant who was the star of Tinseltown on this night.
Ja’s numbers were nothing to write home about. He had a modest 16 points to go along with seven assists and five rebounds. But his team emerged victorious, 127-119, and he had one of the craziest highlights you’ll see all season.
Midway through the opening quarter, Lakers point guard Avery Bradley was going in for a contested layup when, seemingly out of nowhere, Morant came flying in and caught the ball with both hands in midair, well over a foot above the rim. It was easily one of the most insane blocks you will ever see. Check it out:

When Have you ever seen someone jump so high? I mean, seriously! Look at that height! How’s he do that?
It’s not often that someone walks into LeBron’s house and upstages the King, but I think it’s fair to say that’s exactly what Ja did last night.
