As LeBron James’ eldest son, Bronny James, prepares to enter the 2024 NBA draft, speculation about whether LeBron will follow him to the team that selects him has been rife. However, sports analyst Colin Cowherd recently addressed these rumors on his show, “The Herd,” dismissing the idea of the Lakers star joining his son’s team.
Cowherd pointed out that LeBron’s focus is on his career and legacy rather than joining his son’s team.
“It’s not happening. Bronny already said he’d like to chart his own path, and LeBron has said he’d like Bronny to chart his own path,” Cowherd said.
Bronny’s decision to decline all but two NBA workouts, with the Lakers and the Phoenix Suns, fueled speculation about LeBron’s future. However, many Lakers fans remain skeptical about the possibility of LeBron leaving the team, especially considering his continued excellence in Los Angeles.
After a storied career with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat, LeBron joined the Lakers and won his fourth championship with them in 2020.

However, LeBron’s former Miami Heat teammate, Udonis Haslem, doesn’t believe that LeBron will entertain his fans by leaving the Los Angeles Lakers. Haslem dismissed the idea, mentioning LeBron’s commitment to the Lakers and the unlikely prospect of him departing.
“You got a better chance wrestling an alligator than getting Bron out of LA. He ain’t going nowhere. This is a business decision. He has the opportunity to opt out and get more money. He has the option, he has the power, and he’s just exercising it,” Haslem said.
