LeBron James has already added four NBA titles to his impressive resume. Nevertheless, former NBA player Lou Williams thinks the number would be more for the Los Angeles Lakers legend if he were a player in 1975. Interestingly, another former NBA star, Isiah Thomas, wasn’t pleased with Williams’ claim.
In his X account, Thomas wrote that in his eyes, Williams’ bold prediction on LeBron is ‘comical and laughable’. He pointed out that players in that decade weren’t physically gifted.
“I find it comical and laughable how some, not all, people think this is the first generation of basketball players that athletically could run and jump. I’m not sure he would be the best athlete in 1975, all things being equal,” he wrote.
Williams made that claim on James in 2019 during his appearance on the No Chill Podcast. Given LeBron’s athleticism, he is already in the GOAT debate. But comparing a player of this era with a player of the 90s would be unfair.
