Former Detroit Pistons point guard Isiah Thomas has been making the media rounds after he and his ‘Bad Boys’ Pistons were the subject of Episodes 3 and 4 of ESPN’s The Last Dance on Sunday night.
The latest episodes of the 10-part documentary on Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls’ 1997-98 season focused on their battles against the Detroit Pistons and how the Bulls had to fight through being bullied by their Eastern Conference foe to finally sweep them en route to winning the title.
The former Detroit point guard was asked recently if he thinks Jordan is the greatest player ever. Instead of answering the question, he brought up LeBron James and Kevin Durant.
“What KD and what LeBron is doing, if you put them back in the era of the ’80s – with their talent, their athleticism and their skill – who’s the GOAT?” Thomas said.
Whether you want to believe it or not, but players today are a lot more skilled and talented than players from the 80’s and 90’s, such is the case in all sports over time.
ESPN’s The Last Dance airs on Sunday nights through May 17.
