Isaiah Thomas, the point guard for the Phoenix Suns, shared a frightening experience on social media. Thomas reported a terrifying incident involving guns in which he and his friends narrowly escaped death. He said someone pointed an AK47 at him and his companions but decided not to attack them after recognizing Thomas from the NBA.
“Really trippin on how these young kids are moving around!!! I really had a life-changing moment yesterday where a kid pulled an AK47 out on me and the homies, and if it wasn’t for who I was and him recognizing me in my own city, he probably would have ended all of our lives, We just gotta pray for these young men!!! God was working yesterday, for. Damn, it coulda all been over that quick smh. FOR NO REASON AT ALL!!!!!” Thomas wrote in his recent post on X (formerly known as Twitter) that he deleted later.
Thomas deleted his gun incident post later
He stated that the incident occurred in his hometown of Tacoma, Washington, a suburb of Seattle, and that the gunman retreated after learning that Thomas was a professional NBA player.
However, Thomas later deleted that post and did not provide any other information about the incident.
Thomas played for the Suns for only six games during the regular season. He also participated in the Suns’ first-round playoff loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 1. Thomas has played for several teams throughout his career, including the Kings, Celtics, Cavaliers, and Suns.
