Steph Curry made a strong return to the court on Monday, helping the Golden State Warriors secure a dominant 125-112 win over the Washington Wizards. This victory boosted the Warriors’ record to 6-1 and marked their fourth consecutive win.
Curry had missed the previous three games due to a left peroneal strain suffered against the Los Angeles Clippers. Despite his absence, the Warriors managed to win all three games and maintain their momentum in the season.
With Curry back, the team now looks forward to facing the defending champions, the Boston Celtics, in their next matchup. The Warriors star is expected to play.
Against the Wizards, Curry sat out most of the first quarter and made his entrance midway through the second quarter. He quickly found his rhythm, scoring 24 points, adding six assists, and grabbing three rebounds.
Curry also shot 7-15 from the field and 4-9 from three-point range, all within just 24 minutes of play. Curry’s performance proved crucial in stifling Washington’s comeback attempts and sealing another win for Golden State.

“Steph was great. He just looked like he was moving really well and looked strong. [He] came out and played a great game in his 24 minutes,” Kerr said. “We had a minute restriction on him… We talked to him earlier about starting the game, but then not starting the third quarter so that he could play the last six minutes of each of the third and the fourth quarter.”
The Warriors lost Klay Thompson this offseason, but without Thompson, the team is going strong so far this season. Warriors fans can have high expectations from the team under Curry’s leadership.
