After an undefeated pre-season run, the Golden State Warriors have continued their strong start, going 5-1 in their first six regular-season games. However, fans have had reason to feel relieved as the team has shown they can win even without their star player, Stephen Curry. Curry has missed the last three games due to an ankle injury, but the Warriors managed to win each.
The Warriors will face the Washington Wizards on Monday. He participated in a light workout session at Georgetown University on Sunday night with his teammates. Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints reported that Curry’s status has been upgraded to “questionable,” and he may make his return to the court against the Wizards.
“Warriors’ Stephen Curry has been upgraded to questionable and may very well make his return from a 3-game absence due to an ankle injury on Monday against the Wizards,” Siegel reported.
Curry’s injury occurred in the Warriors’ only loss, a 104-112 game against the Los Angeles Clippers. Since then, the team has leaned on Buddy Hield and Jonathan Kuminga, who have both stepped up impressively. Their performances were vital in securing wins in all three games Curry missed.
Steve Kerr Opens Up About Stephen Curry’s Progress
The Warriors are cautiously approaching Stephen Curry’s recovery as they aim to keep their star player healthy for the long season ahead. After Curry participated in practice on Sunday, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr provided an update, sharing the team’s measured approach.
“Looks good. But it’s all about how the ankle feels after the workout tomorrow. So, we’ll see,” Kerr said.
