The Golden State Warriors are preparing to host the Sacramento Kings at Chase Center on Sunday. Nevertheless, the Warriors face significant challenges as they contend with a string of injuries, including the possible absence of their superstar, Stephen Curry.
Curry is questionable for the game with bilateral knee injury management. With the injury concern, he might miss his second consecutive game after also sitting out Saturday’s matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies.
Saturday’s game marked the seventh game Curry has missed this season. Most recently, Curry also missed their clash against the Los Angeles Clippers due to knee tendinitis.
Despite his absence, Golden State boasts a 18-16 record, placing them ninth in the competitive Western Conference standings. However, the Warriors’ injury woes extend beyond Curry. Golden State’s guard Brandin Podziemski will miss the game due to right abdominal tightness, and Gary Payton II remains out with a left calf strain.
The Sacramento Kings, currently holding the 11th spot in the West, also have injury concerns heading into Sunday’s game. Keegan Murray is listed as questionable due to an ankle issue. Meanwhile, De’Aaron Fox’s availability is uncertain because of a hip injury.
Stephen Curry Reveals His Dream Teammate
In a candid conversation with his father, Dell Curry, on the “Heat Check” podcast in July 2024, Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry shared his thoughts on his dream teammate. When asked to pick any player, past or present, Curry didn’t hesitate to pick the San Antonio Spurs legend Tim Duncan.

“Tim Duncan. I don’t know Tim that well, but Coach Kerr mentioned there are a lot of similarities between the way I approach leadership and development and culture in the locker room, the consistency around it, and the way that Tim handled his career. It’d be awesome to play with him,” Curry said.
Duncan was popular for his effective leadership and his ability to create a winning culture throughout his two-decade career with the Spurs. By taking inspiration from Duncan, Curry has also already established himself as one of the perfect leaders for his Warriors teammates on and off the court.
