The Golden State Warriors are embarking on a challenging five-game road trip, set to face the Houston Rockets, Washington Wizards, Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Oklahoma City Thunder. Their journey begins at the Toyota Center in Houston on Saturday, but the team will be without star player Stephen Curry.
Curry is recovering from an ankle injury sustained against the Los Angeles Clippers. The Warriors star has already missed the past two games. The Warriors announced on Friday that he is still not ready to return.
Curry is dealing with a left peroneal strain, and while his progress is encouraging, he will remain sidelined for the matchup with the Rockets. He will be re-evaluated again on Sunday, offering hope for a possible return in the later stages of the road trip.
The Warriors’ head coach, Steve Kerr, provided an update on Curry’s recovery following the team’s practice in Houston.
“He didn’t do anything live, but he did a lot of conditioning, a lot of running movements, so he looks good,” Kerr shared with ESPN.
NBA Analyst Hints At Stephen Curry’s Possible Monday Return
Stephen Curry has been cleared for certain non-contact drills and conditioning exercises, which signals he’s on the right track. However, the Warriors are being cautious, focusing on Curry’s long-term health rather than rushing him back onto the court. Meanwhile, Anthony Slater of the Athletic hinted that the star point guard could be back as soon as Monday.

“Steph Curry will participate in parts of practice tonight in Houston, I’m told. Starting now. Out tomorrow. But re-evaluated on Sunday. Sounds like he could theoretically return on Monday at Wizards,” Slater reported.
This season, Curry played three games for the Warriors. Throughout those games, he has averaged 18.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 6.7 assists. The Golden State Warriors are scheduled to face the Washington Wizards on Monday.
