The San Antonio Spurs will take on the Utah Jazz this Saturday at Frost Bank Center. Victor Wembanyama’s team is coming off a hard-fought 118-105 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers, where they were able to secure the win with strong performances across the board.
Wembanyama is expected to take the court against the Jazz. Currently, the Spurs hold a 4-5 record, placing them 12th in the Western Conference.
In their recent win over the Blazers, Wembanyama contributed 12 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 assists despite shooting just 4-for-13 from the field. Before the start of the season, he also helped lead Team France to a dominant Silver Medal performance.
After a stellar rookie season that earned him the Rookie of the Year award, Wembanyama is focused on proving himself once again this season. The sophomore star is averaging 17.7 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game for the Spurs.
His shooting efficiency is solid with 41.3% from the field, though he is still working to improve his three-point shooting at 22.6%. Wembanyama is hitting 1.6 3-pointers per game.

“He’s absolutely awesome on defense and not impactful at all on offense. He just looks like he’s playing without a whole lot of direction,” the NBA scout said.
Wembanyama, who filed a lawsuit against a Texas man, had a stellar rookie season. He averaged 21.4 points, 10.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 3.6 blocks per game. He shot 46.5% from the field and 32.5% from three. But his sophomore season hasn’t shown much promise like his rookie season.
