The Denver Nuggets are finding their rhythm again, winning five of their last eight games due to Nikola Jokic’s continued dominance. The former Finals MVP has been a key factor in Denver’s recent success, playing in 43 of the team’s 49 games so far this season.
Jokic was at his best in the Nuggets’ latest 107-104 win over the Charlotte Hornets. He finished with a triple-double, securing 28 points, 13 rebounds, and 17 assists. The Serbian star shot 9-of-17 from the field, 2-of-7 from three, and 8-of-9 from the free-throw line.
The Nuggets will now face the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday. As expected, Jokic is fully fit and ready to play. Denver will be without DaRon Holmes (Achilles), Vlatko Cancar (knee), Russell Westbrook (hamstring), and Peyton Watson (knee). Nevertheless, they still remain a strong contender, as Jokic is here to lead the charge.
The Pelicans, on the other hand, are dealing with several injuries. Herbert Jones (shoulder), Brandon Ingram (ankle), and Dejounte Murray (leg) are all ruled out, while Zion Williamson (illness), Daniel Theis (thumb), and Jordan Hawkins (illness) are listed as day-to-day.
Nikola Jokic Feels He’s Playing The Best Basketball Of His Career
Nikola Jokic is in his tenth season with the Nuggets. After leading the Nuggets to a hard-fought win over the Hornets, Nikola Jokic reflected on his performance and why he believes he’s playing at the highest level of his career.
“Probably just I’m mature. I’m 30 years old, I’m in really good shape. The ball is finding me; the ball is going in. Just a perfect moment for me,” Jokic said.
