The Denver Nuggets will kick off their back-to-back games on Monday as they take on the struggling New Orleans Pelicans at the Smoothie King Center. Both teams come into the game with contrasting fortunes.
The Nuggets, currently 14-11 and sitting seventh in the Western Conference standings, are looking to snap their two-game losing streak. In contrast, the Pelicans are having a tough season, holding a dismal 5-23 record and sitting at the bottom of the Western Conference.
Both teams have announced their injury reports ahead of the game. The Nuggets received positive news with two-time MVP Nikola Jokic confirmed to be available for the matchup. Jokic has missed three games this season due to personal reasons but will now lead Denver in their attempt to bounce back.
The Nuggets’ injury list includes Vlatko Cancar, who remains out with a knee injury, and DaRon Holmes, who is sidelined for the season with an Achilles issue. Dario Saric is listed as questionable due to an ankle injury.
However, the Pelicans are severely impacted by injuries to key players. Zion Williamson and Jose Alvarado remain out with hamstring injuries, while Brandon Ingram is sidelined with an ankle issue. Additionally, Karlo Matkovic is dealing with a back injury, and Daniel Theis is unavailable due to personal reasons.

“Fox is very sly in his approach, and rightfully so! He’s been nothing short of spectacular for a subpar roster, bringing the excitement back to Sac. Since we are in the holiday spirit, all I want for Christmas is Fox and Jokic as a 1 -2 punch! Carry the hell on!” Perkins wrote on X.
For now, fans can only imagine the possibilities of this dream duo. Both players continue to shine for their respective teams. Jokic, who recently shared a funny reason for not wearing his wedding ring, is averaging 31 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 9.8 assists this season. Fox has averaged 26.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game this season.
