The Dallas Mavericks are riding high after a hard-fought 121-116 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies, pushing their season record to 14-8 and securing the third spot in the highly competitive Western Conference standings. Their next challenge comes on Thursday night as they prepare to face the Washington Wizards.
The Mavs released their latest injury report. Unfortunately, Naji Marshall has been ruled out due to an illness. However, the team received encouraging news with Luka Doncic confirmed to be available for the game. The Mavericks’ star player recently returned to action after battling a right wrist sprain that forced him to sit out their clash against the Utah Jazz.
In another positive development, both Dereck Lively II and Klay Thompson have been cleared of any injuries. Neither player’s name appeared on the injury report. With key players returning to full fitness and the team clicking on both ends of the floor, Dallas is poised to extend their winning streak.
Luka Doncic Highlights Defensive Effort After Big Win Over Grizzlies
After leading the Dallas Mavericks to a thrilling five-point victory over the Grizzlies, Luka Doncic wasn’t eager to talk about his scoring or playmaking. Instead, he wanted to shine a light on his defense, as it often goes overlooked.
“Somebody is gonna ask about my defense? Woah. I’m trying. This season has been one of the best defensive seasons. I know people don’t see it. But I’m trying and I’ll just get better,” Doncic said.
Doncic led the way against Memphis with 37 points, 12 rebounds, and four assists. So far, Doncic is averaging 29.1 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 7.8 assists per game.
