The Dallas Mavericks are coming off a challenging 112-118 loss against the Miami Heat on Sunday night, leaving them with a 9-8 record in the Western Conference. This defeat was particularly tough for the Mavericks, as they were without their star player, Luka Doncic.
Doncic was sidelined due to right wrist pain. The Mavs star sustained the injury during the Mavs win over the New Orleans Pelicans. Before the Hawks, Donci missed their game against the Nuggets as well.
According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, Doncic is set to be reevaluated in one week. This timeline rules him out for the Mavericks’ next game against the Atlanta Hawks on Monday.
The loss against the Heat marked the end of a four-game winning streak for the Mavericks. Despite the setback, the team fought hard but fell short against a strong Miami Heat lineup. The absence of Doncic was felt throughout the game.
Doncic, who has been a standout performer this season, has played in 14 games so far. He is averaging 28.1 points, 7.6 rebounds, 7.6 assists, and 1.6 steals per game. His contributions have been vital in keeping the Mavericks competitive in a tightly contested Western Conference.

“We miss you, Hermano. Hopefully, you’re at home, and you’re happy, man. This is definitely one for him and one for all our guys that aren’t able to be here and be healthy,” Irving said.
Doncic’s return to the lineup remains uncertain and depends on his recovery progress. However, based on the timeline of his evaluation, there is hope that he could return as early as next Saturday when the Mavericks face the Utah Jazz.
