Why Did LeBron James Miss The Lakers’ Last Two Games?
LeBron James has been battling left foot soreness, and his absence has been felt by the Los Angeles Lakers in recent games. The team suffered a 97-87 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves without him. LeBron’s frustration was evident after the Lakers failed to advance to the NBA Cup quarterfinals.
Lakers head coach JJ Redick previously shared that James has been taking some time away from practice during the team’s extra rest days. Since playing in the Lakers’ 134-132 overtime loss to the Atlanta Hawks on December 6, James has been sidelined. He also missed the team’s 107-98 win over the Portland Trail Blazers.

Redick explained the decision to give James some rest. He noted that the physical toll the season has taken on the 39-year-old star.
“In game, he’s asked for a sub a couple of times because he’s gassed. For us, we have to be cognizant as we play more and more games, just the cumulative effect of playing a lot of minutes. Sunday, being banged up with the foot thing. It felt like a good opportunity for him to get some rest,” Redick said.
LeBron’s return could provide a significant boost to the Lakers as they face a tough opponent in the Grizzlies. But till now, it remains uncertain if he will suit up.
