The Brooklyn Nets will play the Houston Rockets this Saturday at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. The Nets have been struggling again, with a 15-33 record so far, and their star, Ben Simmons, is also having another underwhelming season.
Simmons recently returned to action after missing five games due to injury. He played a key role in Brooklyn’s 104-83 victory over the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday, recording 10 points, two rebounds, and six assists. However, he is healthy enough to suit up again on Saturday, as his name is absent from the team’s latest injury report.
Brooklyn must navigate a long list of injuries for their matchup against the Rockets. Key players like Bojan Bogdanovic (foot), De’Anthony Melton (ACL), Maxwell Lewis (leg), Cameron Thomas (hamstring), Noah Clowney (ankle), and Cameron Johnson (ankle) are all sidelined. Day’Ron Sharpe is listed as day-to-day with a hamstring issue.
The Rockets are also dealing with injury concerns. Jabari Smith Jr. has been ruled out due to a hand injury, while Alperen Sengun is questionable with a calf issue.
Ben Simmons Reflects On Recovery After Second Back Surgery
Ben Simmons has faced a long road to recovery after undergoing two back surgeries in recent years that even deemed his mentality to return to the game. His first procedure took place in May 2022 to address a herniated disc, followed by a second surgery last year. During an interview on The Young Man and the Three podcast, Simmons shared how much the second surgery improved his condition.
“You’re doing the most simple exercise you could possibly do. You just gotta be okay with that process with it and just rebuilding and understanding that your body needs time to heal and relearn everything,” Simmons said.
