The search is finally over! For months now, some of the biggest names in the card collecting industry have been ripping open boxes of 2020-21 Panini Flawless Basketball, in hopes of hitting what many consider to be the new “Holy Grail” of trading cards: The LeBron James “Triple Logoman.”
This extremely rare card, which features three NBA Logoman patches for each of LeBron’s three teams he’s played for (the Cavaliers, Heat and Lakers), is a one-of-one piece, meaning it’s the only one of its kind ever made.
We’ve seen some of the biggest names around, from Canadian rapper Drake to Goldin Auctions owner Ken Goldin, rip open dozens of these boxes in search of the LeBron James Triple Logoman…but to no avail.
However, on Friday night, during a live break on the Whatnot app, the card was finally pulled. And pandemonium ensued.
The box was believed to have been purchased by a group of three individuals from the U.S. It was ripped by the guys at Backyard Breaks, of all people. (And if you’re wondering why I say that, just check out this video, where they scammed the winner of a free box out of a Trevor Lawrence Gold Kaboom card. There have been several bounties placed on the LeBron James Triple Logoman ever since it was unveiled by Panini as part of the 2020-21 Flawless Basketball collection. Boxes of the product were selling for over $15,000 USD, with some of the biggest collectors advertising that they’d be willing to pay millions for the card once it’s pulled.
Now that it has been pulled, it should be interesting to see what the lucky new owners of the LeBron Triple Logoman decide to do with it. Do they take the millions and run? Or do they sit on the card, hoping it’s value only increases over time?
