After five weeks of frustration nursing a strained right calf, Boston Celtics center Kristaps Porzingis finally returned to action in the Celtics’ Game 1 win. In his first game back, Porzingis stunned everyone with his devastating play. However, before the Celtics secured another victory in Game 2, a scary moment raised concerns about Porzingis’ injury.
During the game, it appeared that Porzingis re-aggravated his calf while trying to grab the ball. He was later seen walking stiffly to the bench, where the training staff met with him. Dr. Evan Jeffries, a sports injury analyst, shared a clip of the incident.
Due to a right calf strain, Porzingis had been out since Game 4 of the Celtics’ first-round playoff series against the Miami Heat. His return significantly boosted the Celtics, especially considering he had spent three years with the Mavericks before being traded in February 2022.
