During a recent episode of ‘NBA Countdown,’ NBA analyst Stephen A. Smith opened up about Russell Westbrook’s ejection during the last game against the Dallas Mavericks. He said that Westbrook would also be suspended from the next game and that he exhibits inexcusable behavior.
For those who are not aware of what happened, let me give you a quick recap. During the first round of the Los Angeles Clippers vs. Dallas Mavericks series, Westbrook was ejected from Game 3.
This happened after he fouled Luka Doncic hard and pushed him away. Furthermore, he got into a heated altercation with PJ Washington while arguing with other Mavericks players.
Throughout the game, Westbrook was seen yelling at Doncic and protesting while fouling aggressively.
Smith made some bold statements for Russell Westbrook
“That inexcusable behavior; I was of the mindset that Russell Westbrook deserved to be suspended for today’s game. That’s how appalling his game was. Now I’ve been raving about Russell Westbrook since he arrived in Los Angeles. I want y’all to go back and reflect on what transpired in Game 3. Look at this foul right here, you [Westbrook] knocked the guy clear upside the head…You sit up there and you come down on Luka Doncic’s back, that play right there, you could have separated his [Doncic’s] shoulder. Then you push him in the chest. Then you go after PJ [Washington]…And then you are shrugging off the referees. I felt so serious about this fellas. I called the league office. I said, ‘I need an explanation…Tell me why Russell Westbrook isn’t suspended” Stephen A. Smith said.
According to Smith, Russell Westbrook’s behavior during the game is intolerable. He tends to be overly aggressive and mocks other players. This incident has left several fans and NBA analysts surprised, and they have expressed various reactions.
