The Boston Celtics suspended Ime Udoka for having an “improper intimate and consensual relationship” with a female on the team’s staff and that isn’t even half of the story.
An independent law firm found that Udoka used crude language with a subordinate, which led to an inappropriate workplace relationship. As a result, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski says that Udoka likely has a “difficult pathway” to return as the Celtics coach even after his suspension expires next year.
A little more detail has been revealed about why the Boston Celtics opted to suspend head coach Ime Udoka for an entire season over an alleged workplace relationship.
It comes in the form of heavy rumors from a guy who claims to have a friend at the NBA league office. According to his source, Udoka and Nia Long are in an open relationship, and he tends to sleep with a ton of women wherever he has been employed.

Udoka is ineligible to coach for the Celtics until June 30, 2023. In the meantime, assistant head coach Joe Mazzulla has been promoted to interim head coach.
This entire situation is just insane for a Celtics team that reached the NBA Finals in Udoka’s first year as head coach last season, and it seems very possible Udoka will not be back on the Celtics sideline when his suspension is up.
