The Western Conference semifinal series between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Denver Nuggets is reaching a thrilling conclusion as the teams are tied 3-3 with one game remaining. Not many predicted this outcome after the Nuggets’ dominance in three consecutive games. However, Wolves’ Anthony Edwards seemed confident about their win despite the Game 5 loss.
Following a dominant 115-70 win at the Target Center, the Ant-Man was asked to address whether he had told the Denver Nuggets’ locker room staff that they would come back for the series’ final game. “Hell yeah! They know. Y’all was in there. I told them, ‘I’ll see y’all motherf*ckers for Game 7,'” Edwards admitted, to which a chorus of laughter filled the press room.
The Wolves achieved early success at the Ball Arena, winning the first two games. However, the Nuggets turned the tide by returning stronger and snatching a 3-2 lead in the next three games. While other players at this point lost confidence, the 22-year-old, focused on his assignment, led the team to a crucial success on Thursday.
Anthony Edwards Inspires Timberwolves to Draw Level
Anthony Edwards stepped up for the Timberwolves in the vital game when they needed him. The Ant’s positive mentality at such a young age has favored the team.
The All-Star guard scored a game-high 27 points, 4 rebounds, assists, and 3 steals. He also made 8 of 17 shots from the floor, 4 of 9 from the 3-point range, and 7 out of 8 free throws. Edwards also received offensive support from teammate Jaden McDaniels, who added 21 points to the scoreboard.

The three big men of the Wolves squad, Karl-Anthony Towns, Rudy Gober, and Naz Reid, responsible for holding back the Denver offense, played phenomenally and grabbed 38 rebounds together.
From the opening quarter, the Minnesota team had taken a 17-point lead, which became hard for the Nuggets to chase. By the end of the game, they had increased the gap to a whopping 45 points, leaving the best duo in the league baffled.
Now that the two teams have shown how they can perform under pressure, their final meeting on Sunday at the Ball Arena will be nerve-racking, just like a conference semifinal should be.
