Shannon Sharpe says he would have never tolerated Michael Jordan instructing an airplane hostess to not feed him because he had a bad game.
The story went super viral this week in the wake of a report claiming Jordan would withhold food from Horace Grant if he deemed his former teammate’s performance to be subpar.
“Players would come to me over the years and said, ‘You know what he did? He took Horace [Grant’s] food away on the plane because Horace had a bad game,’” Smith said. “[Michael] told the stewardesses ‘Don’t feed him, he doesn’t deserve to eat.’
“They would tell me stuff like that and they’d say ‘Why don’t you write this?’ And I would say ‘Well I can’t write it unless you say it.’ I don’t do ‘league sources.’ You can’t do that kind of stuff on these kinds of things. ‘If you want to be quoted I’ve got no problem with that.’ ‘No, no, no we can’t say that about Michael Jordan.’”
Speaking on UNDISPUTED this Thursday, Sharpe said, “I’d have whipped Mike’s a**. Mike would have had to whip me, or I’ma whip him. Because for you to tell someone not to feed me because you didn’t think I had a good game, we gon’ fight every day until I beat Mike. Mike might whip me, but I’ma make it so difficult, he’d never wanna fight me again.”
Shannon Sharpe is a big guy, but so is Horace Grant and he never laid a hand on Jordan when it happened.
