After a commanding 4-0 series sweep against the Indiana Pacers, the Boston Celtics’ star player, Jaylen Brown, was bestowed with the Eastern Conference Finals MVP title. Surprisingly, Brown, who garnered attention for his take on NBA All-Star, himself confessed that he never anticipated receiving such an accolade.
During the post-game press conference, his humility shone through as he expressed gratitude for the team’s victory rather than personal recognition.
“I wasn’t expecting it at all. I never win sh*t. I was just happy that we won,” he candidly shared.
In addition to his unexpected MVP award, Brown admitted to being surprised by the recognition, as he had never received such a prestigious honor before.
Throughout the series, Brown emerged as a pivotal player, leading the Celtics with stellar performances in every game. He averaged an impressive 29.7 points over four games.
In Game 4, his crucial defensive block on Andrew Nembhard, followed by a clutch assist to Derrick White for the game-winning three-pointer. It sealed the Celtics’ victory and solidified Brown’s MVP status.

Jayson Tatum Shares Selfless Response Over Jaylen Brown’s MVP Title
Jayson Tatum’s stellar performance throughout the Eastern Conference Finals had positioned him as the frontrunner for the MVP title. Tatum’s scoring prowess was undeniable, with an impressive average of 30.2 points per game. However, when Jaylen Brown emerged as the unexpected recipient of the MVP honor, Tatum graciously commended his teammate’s achievement.
“That was special; it was a big time to be rewarded for how you played. That’s a special accomplishment for him and for everybody,” Tatum said.
Tatum and Brown serve as the driving forces behind the Boston Celtics’ success. With one more mission ahead, the rest of the Celtics are eager to compete for the title.
The Celtics are now rushing to face whichever opponent emerges victorious from the Western Conference Finals. Currently, the Mavericks hold a commanding 3-0 lead in the series, positioning themselves as formidable contenders.
