The New York Knicks snatched a 97-92 win from the Philadelphia 76ers in their fourth game of the playoff series and Knicks’ Josh Hart gave credit for the win to teammate Jalen Brunson for his huge role in Sunday’s game.
In a post-game interview, Hart said, “I was like Shaq at the free throw line, so we needed it. He did great offensively, aggressive, and I thought we needed some of that and we got it. Now, we gotta continue to do it off that, Game 5, and keep moving forward.”
Hart scored an average of 21 points in the first three but struggled in Game 4. He attempted 7 shots from the floor and 3 from the 3-point range, but none of them hit the mark, and he finished with a 4-17-5 stat line. While talking about his comparatively poor performance, he drew comparisons with NBA great Shaquille O’Neal, who didn’t have a good hand at free throws.
However, he was all praise about Brunson, who scored 47 points, 4 rebounds and 10 assists. For his outstanding game-high point contribution, the guard garnered praise from many, including opponents.
Kelly Oubre Jr. Acknowledges Jalen Brunson Masterclass
Jalen Brunson has phenomenally led the NY Knicks through thick and thin and pulled them to the playoff series. His masterclass performance even forced Sixers’ Kelly Oubre Jr. to laud him.
Following Game 4’s defeat, Sixers’ Oubre acknowledged Brunson’s massive contribution to the Knicks’ 3-1 win in the series. Shaking his head in disbelief at Brunson’s shooting, the 28-year-old said in the post-game press conference, “34 shots. I mean, yeah, he’s a great player, I love playing against him, I love his game, he has a lot of fundamentals and skill set to his game. But anybody shoots 34 shots that has skill and is a great player, they’re gonna be able to do well. And especially against screens, getting mismatches, and trying to find the right matchups and things like that… It was due to happen obviously, JB is a great player.”

Although the Knicks guard added 47 points in the fourth game, Oubre mentioned the 18 shots Brunson hit out of 34 attempts from the field. If Brunson is taking note, then he should show some shooting skills to Oubre at their next meeting at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday to continue the fight on the court.
