The Suns were put out of their misery by the Timberwolves in Sunday night’s game four between the two teams. The Minnesota team finished the job with a 4-0 series win, ending the Phoenix franchise’s postseason dreams.
Devin Booker tried his best on the night to force a game five, but that wasn’t to be. Following the match, the Suns’ guard said to the media, “I want to win it. I don’t wanna get back. It’s a tough league. At the end of all this, there’s gonna be one winner.” Adding further the 27-year-old said, “I have to be better, Kevin has to be better, Brad has to be better, coach has to be better. If we’re the leaders of the team, we can’t be out there unprepared.”
Booker emphasized the importance of defensive and offensive rebounds along with free throws, covering spaces among the many other issues the Suns have to address in the next season.
The Suns finished Sunday night on the wrong end of a 122-116 scoreline in the fourth game as well, despite Devin Booker’s 49-point performance, which helped him reach yet another franchise milestone.
Devin Booker Reaches Personal Landmark for Suns
With his phenomenal scoring abilities, Devin Booker has risen to the third spot on the franchise’s overall playoff points list. It wasn’t easy for the guard to surpass the Suns’ greats Charles Barkley, who had 1,273 playoff points with the franchise, and Walter Davis, who had 1,288. However, after scoring a game-high 49 points on Sunday, Booker added 1290 points to his name in the playoff tournament.
