During a recent interview on ‘7 PM in Brooklyn’, Former American basketball player Carmelo Anthony shared an amazing story about Allen Iverson. Carmelo Anthony talks about how Allen Iverson locked in for games during their time at the Nuggets.
“We went from laughing and joking several hours before the game to the switch… I know he’s [Allen Iverson] about to go there and get 40,” Carmelo Anthony said during the interview.
Carmelo Anthony possesses a unique ability to fit seamlessly into any team’s lineup. However, he didn’t acquire this skill until later in his career, as he was accustomed to being the team’s focal point and having everything revolve around him.

Carmelo Anthony opened up about Knick’s current Lineup
In his recent interview with JJ Redick, Anthony also discussed his current basketball skills and shared his thoughts on the lineup of the New York Knicks.
“I honestly think, to be honest with you, New York, I’m going to say this because my thing is I wanted a point guard. I always felt like I needed somebody like Andre Miller or Chauncey Billups. I needed somebody at that position who was a big guard, could post up, knew how to run a team, but still could do what they did. I always needed somebody like a power forward, like a very explosive power forward at the forward, just toughness, a Kenyon Martin, somebody like that. I just think the way that the Knicks roster is put together, they have a lead guard who can lead. So it takes it off of me to just try to go do everything. Now, I could just be Prime Melo and just have a role on this specific team right here to go score. Go play that role for us because we got everything else. We got defenders, we got three-point shooters.” Anthony said.

He makes an excellent case for how Jalen Brunson, a point guard, might lead the way by focusing on his role as an off-ball scorer and secondary facilitator. Anthony would give over the majority of plays to Brunson, much like he did with Damian Lillard in his later years in Portland.
