The NBA has seen numerous forms of behavioral antics over the years but the Oklahoma City Thunder players have taken things to another level. The OKC players have been seen barking during games and in postgame interviews. OKC forward Jalen Williams recently explained his barking antics in the Thunder vs Pelicans game.
After the Thunder defeated the Pelicans in Game 1 of the first round of Playoffs Chet Holmgreen and Jalen Williams appeared on a post-game conference. They talked about the game sharing insights into their plans for the future. Jalen Williams also explained his uncanny behavior on the court. The Thunder forward was seen barking at the Pelicans player Jonas Valanciunas.
“He (Jonas Valanciunas) yelled at my face and picked me off the floor so I just barked, I don’t know. It was good energy the whole time, I thought it was cool. I get to bark with the fans and they bark back, it’s just competitive juices going,” said Jalen Williams.
He explained that he barked back at the Pelicans player because of the current competitive intensity. He highlighted that there was no animosity in the situation, and it was all in good energy. He also highlighted that he enjoyed barking with the fans during matches.

For the first time since 2019, the NBA playoffs have returned to the city of Oklahoma. They hosted the New Orleans Pelicans in Game 1 of the first round of the Playoffs. Blue and Orange confetti filled the air after the buzzer rang, declaring OKC’s 94-92 victory in Game 1. The festivities appeared a bit extra, considering it was only Game 1 of the four-game series. However, it is understandable, as the Thunder has waited four years for this moment to return. This Game 1 victory will give OKC great momentum to ride on going forward in the rest of the series.
