The Minnesota Timberwolves will play against the Nuggets for the fourth and final time in one of the most important games of the regular season on Wednesday. Both teams enter the game tied atop the Western Conference standings at 55-24.
However, these teams faced off in the first round of the playoffs last season, with the Nuggets winning in five games. The Timberwolves played admirably, which was promising for such a young squad, regardless of the loss. They have profited from that knowledge, which has helped them quickly climb to the top of the standings this season.
Following the Wizards’ Tuesday night loss to the Wolves, Anthony Edwards was asked about the upcoming game against the Denver Nuggets, then said that everyone knows what is at stake.
“I think everyone knows what is at stake. I don’t even need to talk about how big it is. Everybody knows.” Anthony Edwards said during the interview.

“I don’t think it’s a really big game. Yes, we’re going to go out there and play to win the game, of course, but I think people are just making their stories that it’s a big game. Hopefully, it’s going to be interesting.” Nikola Jokic said this during the interview.
Jokic led the squad to a 111-95 victory over the Jazz on Tuesday, scoring 28 points (12-20 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 13 rebounds, seven assists, one block, and three steals.
After Wednesday night’s game, each team has only two games left in the regular season. This means the winner of the number one position in the Western Conference is practically certain to make the playoffs—unless Oklahoma City has other plans. They now trail each team by one game.
