Howard Stern has weighed in on Kyrie Irving and he did not mince a single word.
Stern, who is Jewish, took to the airwaves to bash the Brooklyn Nets guard for tweeting a link to a film that shares antisemitic disinformation, going as far as calling him a “f—ing moron.” That was about as nice as he got about Kyrie.
“This is some great thinker,” Stern said sarcastically about Irving. “He bounces a basketball and puts it through a hoop and people are paying attention to him.”
Irving was suspended last week.
The radio legend called the Nets star a “complete douchebag” and then mocked how Irving has been playing the victim, notably during his spat with another reporter.
“Just let me hate the Jews for God’s sake,” he said. “Don’t bust my b—s. I just want to go on Twitter and hate Jews. Can’t you just leave me alone? Everyone hates Jews. Why are you picking on me? I’m just an NBA player. I don’t understand anything. A lot of people hate the Jews. Why are you picking on me? The Earth is flat. I think Jews are lizards. Next question. Stop it. Just leave me be.”

Irving now must complete a six-part to-do list in order to return to the Nets, which includes completing trainings and meeting with Jewish community leaders. In the aftermath, he has since apologized for his actions and deleted the link to the film.
However, it did not stop Nike from suspending its partnership with him and canceled its next Irving-branded shoe release in the aftermath of his promotion of an anti-Semitic documentary.
“At Nike, we believe there is no place for hate speech and we condemn any form of antisemitism. To that end, we’ve made the decision to suspend our relationship with Kyrie Irving effective immediately and will no longer launch the Kyrie 8,” Nike said in a statement.
The Nets will also not pay him during his suspension.
His reputation has taken a massive blow, and this comes on the heels of his COVID-19 stance from last year where he only played in 29 of the Nets’ 82 regular season games for the 2021-2022 season.
